A skin resurfacing laser that can be used on any skin tone and during any time of year? Unheard of — unless you have heard of LaseMD. Unlike most lasers, LaseMD is based on a thulium crystal, setting it apart from carbon dioxide-based alternatives. It is a fractional non-ablative laser treatment that uses laser energy to create micro-channels in the skin, stimulating the body's natural production of collagen and elastin.
For clients who want results without extended downtime, LaseMD delivers. Many patients see visible improvement within days of their first treatment, with the skin continuing to renew itself over the following weeks.
LaseMD is suitable for all skin types and tones, at any time of year. It is particularly effective for clients with active acne and acne scarring, sun damage, melasma, pigmentation, fine lines, uneven skin tone and texture, and those seeking rejuvenation of the neck, hands, and décolleté. It is also used to support hair regrowth.
LaseMD Ultra uses a 1927nm non-ablative fractional thulium laser. A fractional laser treats only a fraction of the skin tissue at a time, leaving surrounding tissue intact to support rapid healing.
The controlled micro-channels created by the laser stimulate the body's natural healing process, replacing old and damaged cells with new, healthy ones. The heating effect also drives collagen remodelling in the deeper dermal layers, improving wrinkles and skin texture without removing the top layer of skin.
There is almost no downtime after a standard LaseMD treatment. The micro-beams and optimised energy levels allow for quick recovery, and most clients can return to daily activities immediately.
If LaseMD is used for correction at higher settings, mild grazing may be experienced for 5 to 7 days as the skin rebuilds.
Use sun protection diligently for at least one week following treatment. Avoid heavy cosmetics while any redness is present. Keep the skin well hydrated with your regular moisturiser, avoiding alcohol-based products. Normal activities can typically be fully resumed within two weeks.
Phase 1
Skin is stabilised through calming inflammation and barrier function repair. Some technologies and methods include the Lutronic DermaV, the SDL Glass Skin Method, and controlled chemical support.
Phase 2
Targeted device-based treatments are clinically introduced, spaced and layered. Technologies such as the PicoSure Pro may be used for laser toning, pigment management, resurfacing, and texture improvement.
Phase 3
The focus shifts to refining skin tone, pore quality, and smoothness. This phase may involve the Lutronic LaseMD Ultra alongside SDL's depigmentation protocols.
Phase 4
Structured skin maintenance is designed to help sustain results and support skin long-term. This may include regenerative treatments, periodic laser toning, and hydrating chemical support.
