If a laser could win a trophy, it would be the eCO2. Widely regarded as the gold standard in scar revision and ablative skin correction, the eCO2 laser can be delivered as a full beam covering all of the skin's surface, or as fractional resurfacing covering between 5 and 60 per cent of the surface area.
The eCO2 works by stimulating collagen and breaking down scar tissue. Controlled heating activates a cascade of pro-inflammatory mediators through heat shock protein (HSP), generating new collagen production in the deeper skin layers. The result is profoundly rejuvenated, firmer, and more even skin.
eCO2 is particularly suited to clients living in Australia with significant sun exposure histories, addressing skin concerns including sagging skin, deep wrinkles, acne scarring, dark ageing spots, uneven pigmentation, and sun damage — all in one comprehensive treatment.
Before the procedure, a lactic acid peel and Healite II treatment are performed one week prior to prepare the skin. On the day, topical numbing gel is applied and the eCO2 ablative laser resurfacing is carried out using an ultra-pulse carbon dioxide beam that systematically targets all skin layers.
Following the procedure, a post-treatment balm is applied and a detailed Aftercare Pack is provided. Time in clinic is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, with the procedure itself taking 20 to 30 minutes.
Post-procedure Healite II sessions are performed on day 3 and day 7 to support healing and optimise results.
Following eCO2 resurfacing, allow for approximately 5 to 7 days of social downtime. You can continue most daily activities, but you may prefer to stay home as your skin will be red and flaky during recovery.
Rest at home for at least the first few days. Perform regular vinegar soaks and apply the post-procedure balm as instructed. After the first week, a new layer of skin will have formed with a markedly improved complexion. Some mild redness may persist for the first month.
Phase 1
Skin is stabilised through calming inflammation and barrier function repair. Some technologies and methods include the Lutronic DermaV, the SDL Glass Skin Method, and controlled chemical support.
Phase 2
Targeted device-based treatments are clinically introduced, spaced and layered. Technologies such as the PicoSure Pro may be used for laser toning, pigment management, resurfacing, and texture improvement.
Phase 3
The focus shifts to refining skin tone, pore quality, and smoothness. This phase may involve the Lutronic LaseMD Ultra alongside SDL's depigmentation protocols.
Phase 4
Structured skin maintenance is designed to help sustain results and support skin long-term. This may include regenerative treatments, periodic laser toning, and hydrating chemical support.
